Coldplay: A Head Full of Dreams

AHFOD1000.jpg

I’ll be honest, Coldplay hasn’t excited me in a long time. Their last two albums Ghost Stories and Mylo Xyloto were fine but nothing truly noteworthy. Their latest album, A Head Full of Dreams, is more promising and much more enjoyable to listen to. You can feel they had fun making this album and that is evident especially in its titular track, as well as the current single, “Adventure of a Lifetime”. I love when a band can experiment and have it end up working in their favor. You can tell Coldplay isn’t afraid to add a few funky baselines and hand-claps to add some levity to their persona. You will find yourself bobbing and dancing throughout a listen of Dreams. One of the standout tracks for me is “Amazing Day”. A strong slow jam ballad that really showcases Chris Martins beautiful range. I love a song that can soars and can bring you back down without missing a beat. I’m really enjoying what Coldplay is doing and I think you will too. The album is available for streaming on Spotify.
